Design concept - CHESSBOARD
The spatial design is determined by a uniform pattern of building masses following the basic principles of point construction, formed by "freestanding" volumes grouped together to form a whole. The common denominator of the building masses is the loose distribution of the volumes. The overall complex is defined by a single 'type' of building mass, with a clear division of the programme by buildings-columns, with a common central tract linking these programmes. From a design point of view, the chessboard element is a key feature that serves as a basic matrix to define a system typology that allows for connectivity between individual buildings/assemblies, while comprehensive linking the spatially diverse structure to the "idyllic" image of quality visual sequences to the surrounding hillside.
